Thanks to the Plain Dealer for posting all the comments from the County Commissioners today in response to the Dimora indictment. Lawson Jones got all choked up over the assault on his name, and Hagan again tried to defend all the other county employees. I thought that the most interesting part of the exchange was how low Lawson Jones set his goals for this year. "Way to reach for the stars, Mr. Jones!!"
1. Pass the Human Services Levy. (How much work did he do on this?)
2. Balance the County budget. (Mandated by law--what choice did he have?)
3. Make sure that there was a smooth transition to the new government. (Again, what is the choice here--keep everything secret and then steal all the Ws of the keyboards?) (Wait, didn't they try to keep the transition meetings private?)
None of these seem like real goals. It seems like this is all like saying, "I don't want to have to figure out how to replace all the money that we get from the levy, and I will abide by the law." It is no wonder that you guys are gone. Again, the worst commissioners ever.
