Today, the Party of Anti-Justice have successfully put off justice for Lesbians and Gays serving in the military, mostly by lying. Sen McCain lied about the scope of this bill asking for a delay until the military finishes their survey. This bill would just authorize the military to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell or the Gays Are Not Fit to Serve provisions. I thought the Injustice party proclaimed that they wanted to get government off all of our backs? I guess they want government out of some people's business, but they want government to investigate the private lives of their soldiers and explore what goes on in the bedrooms of soldiers. This is such hypocrisy, and should be viewed as Anti-Tea Party. I mean how do you cut government costs if military officials are expected to investigate allegations of being gay when someone does tell? They are just liars.
Susan Collins also lied saying that there would be no chance for amendments, even though the Democrats had previously promised the possibility for amendments. There was also a reasonable proposal to allow a path to citizenship for certain minor children who complete some college or enlist in the military. I was especially interested when George Voinovich of the Injustice Party claimed that he wanted a clean bill to vote on. This was standard practice under the Injustice regime of the Trent Lott Senate. They tried campaign finance in 2006, and then they would attack Democrats for not supporting the troops. "How can you vote against money for more guns or armor for transport vehicles to protect the troops when they are honorably serving in Iraq?" Now every member of the Anti-Justice party has no problem harming the troops when Democrats are in power.
I don't understand why the Dems aren't hitting these guys hard for undermining the troops? I really like the strategy of making the Injustice party to have to vote on popular items. Keep cramming it down the throat of the other party that they are just obstructionists. Vote on immigration reform, DC statehood, every judge and appointment possible, more financial reform, housing reform, anything that Americans are currently worried about. Harry Reid has to go as Majority Leader. They need someone with fire who can fire up the caucus. How about Chuck Schumer or Sherrod Brown?
