I thought Donald was the "World's Greatest Showman"or at least the "World's Greatest Reality Star? That was the most boring and chaotic convention in history. There were no stars, minor musicians, and not even many big politicians. Scott Baio and the Duck Dynasty were the stars at the RNC and his kids compared to Meryl Streep, America Ferrera, Lena Dunham, Paul Simon, Demi Lovato, Tony Goldwyn, Eva Longoria, Sarah Silverman, Elizabeth Banks, Alicia Keys, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Debra Messing, and many others at the DNC. There were so many different and diverse voices on stage in Phil compared to the old white guys and stooges yelling at us in Cleveland. This was an amazing disparity and is baffling why the showman would put on such a pathetic show. What happened to the fire eaters or the chain saw jugglers? What did we expect the spoiled kids would say about Trump? They did not want to jeopardize their inheritance?
This is to say nothing for the politicians. Every former President and current President spoke during the DNC while none spoke at the RNC. The Elephant party had the B team with a few has-beens speaking. The only star was Paul Ryan who was held hostage in a bunker until he agreed to speak. Guiliani, Huckabee, Carson, Gingrich and Christie were the vanquished losers who spoke. Every Democrat elected official came to Philly to speak. All the rising stars were present and the A team vouched for Hillary Clinton. There were Senators Booker and Warren, Bill Clinton and Joe Biden who spoke. Where were the Bushes, any of the former nominees (only Dole), or even the Republican senator or Governor from the home state? There were only a few Republicans who spoke up in support of Trump. It was an amazing contrast.
This is to say nothing for the difference between Bernie Sanders and his full throated support for Hillary compared to Ted Cruz crapping on Donald's party. Bernie has done everything to quell the revolution he sparked. Cruz acted like a spoiled child and was boo'd off the stage. Bernie was able to compromise with Hillary on new leadership and a progressive platform. Since Cruz has no idea how to compromise, he could not make any deals with Trump. It was an amazing contrast between the two shows. It was almost like Trump was trying to throw the game in order to totally destroy the Republican party.
Speaking of trying to throw the game...what is up with Trump's music? He has played the Rolling Stones "You Can't Always Get What You Want." This is crazy. Why would you play a song with that title on more than one occasion? It is stupid. Only the worst assistant would recommend this song. He repeatedly played (over the objection of the band) Queen's "We are the Champions." A song performed by an immigrant of Iranian descent who was gay and died of AIDS. Freddie Mercury would have stormed the stage in Cleveland if he were still alive. The most amazing song choice was the REM song "Its the End of the World." How would this ever work? REM are from Austin Texas and they hate everyone especially Republicans. This is worst campaign ever.
